Typing playfully or with serious intent? The terse 140 character comments of Twitter come more easily than extended discourse. Even then blathering into the blogsphere seems like making the air harder to breath.
And now I've decided to inhabit parallel environments, layers and layers. Professional work RL, PlayRL and all extended into the virtual world of Second Life. I need more real estate on my monitor. Multitasking in layers is like digging into the bottom of my closet
Wait... shhh... I didn't say that..

Welcoming Buddy the Chocolate Lab!

Buddy the Chocolate Lab joined our family October 26, 2007.
He was picked up as a stray by the SPCA... and waited a month there for his first family to claim him. They didn't.
Our gain. He is a love.
The SPCA folks named him Buddy. He came to us knowing that name, house manners, and some basic commands. He also has an old injury to his left rear knee, that doesn't slow him down one bit!

Remembering Shady our Lab

This photo of Shady, our Lab, was taken at 3:30 pm May 6 2006. Shady joined our family from the SPCA on September 11, 2004 at age 3 1/2.
This is how we will remember her.
Loving and protective of us, always ready for a walk, a dog cookie or scruffies, Shady was uncertain and avoided anything unfamiliar. But she accompanied her 'pack' anywhere they led her. She was clear about what she would and would not tolerate to the very end.
Her liver disease progressed so rapidly. Too rapidly..... so destructively....
Our last trip to the vet with her yesterday October 11, 2007 was one of the most difficult decisions we have had to make. We miss our dear loving companion. We will carry wonderful memories of her with us forever.
